Reiko Fujisawa Lunchtime Piano Recitai – 2017 Wednesday 17 May 2017 – 1:00 – 1:40 pm in the Cathedral
On Wednesday 17th May 2017 Reiko Fujisawa joined us again for a Lunchtime Piano Recital.
On this occasion Reiko began by charming her audience with a wonderful rendition of Haydn’s Andante con variazioni. The notes seemed to flow in an effortlessly executed melodic stream, preparing the audience for the larger and more demanding Appassionata Sonata.
Here, Reiko amply mastered the majestic and complex structure laid down by Beethoven without losing any of the musical sensitivity we have come to expect from this artiste. We hope that Reiko will grace us again with her presence in the Cathedral.
Reiko is a well established Virtuoso Pianist, who originally studied music in Tokyo, San Francisco and latterly London where she is now based. Her playing embodies a European sensibility which has its roots in musical Japan.
