Thank you to everyone who responded so generously on 5-6 March, both by donating useful items and, through our second collection, which raised the tremendous sum of £2,308.80 for the people of Ukraine.

Your donations will be forwarded to CAFOD and will help local experts in Ukraine to provide extra food,  water, healthcare, shelter and clothing.

Photos of just some of the goods heading for Ukraine from a local collection point in Upminster

Contributions from our parish have already been added to the local effort in Upminster, and have been delivered by volunteers from the Cathedral to a business there, which has generously suspended its usual operations to manage the collection, sorting, storage and transportation of aid.

We have been working with some of our Ukrainian parishioners to ensure we are collecting appropriate goods that are going to those in need. These goods are heading for the Ukrainian border with the intention that they will then be transported on to Kyiv.

Please help the suffering people of Ukraine by giving as much as you can to the

CAFOD Appeal

A prayer for Ukraine

Loving God,
We pray for the people of Ukraine,
for all those suffering or afraid,
that you will be close to them and protect them.

We pray for world leaders,
for compassion, strength and wisdom to guide their choices.

We pray for the world
that in this moment of crisis,
we may reach out in solidarity
to our brothers and sisters in need.

May we walk in your ways
so that peace and justice
become a reality for the people of Ukraine
and for all the world.
